Boeing CH-47 Chinook of RNAF

The twin-rotor heavy airlifter, the Boeing CH-47 Chinook of Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNAF) during unusual takeoff. This photo captured beautifully by R. Donselaar at Leeuwarden Open Days in RNAF Air Base. Apparently the Chinook while showing off its capability.

The CH-47 made first flight in 1961 and began entered service in 1962, Boeing has been manufacturing more than 1,200 Chinook and been using by 16 nations worldwide. Largest operator of it are US Army and Royal Air Force. Anyway from this twin-rotor, it able to lift up to 12 tonnes making it nearly 22 tonnes of maximum takeoff weight (MTOW).

The RNAF operating about 20 CH-47s consist of CH-47F and CH-47D model, they have added ten more to firm orders. In Afghanistan battle warfare, they lost two CH-47s and several crew while they on board.
